aramis jones
Aramis Jones is a community health advocate whose work passionately focuses on championing equity in healthcare, especially for communities of color.
Having lived with a chronic health condition herself, Aramis gained a first-hand understanding of how healthcare could be improved to better serve the community. Incorporating this lived experience and her many years as a public health professional, Aramis has successfully led multiple evidence-based community wellness programs and collaborative health promotion campaigns for foster-care youth, college students, people living with chronic conditions, and senior citizens. Over the course of her career, Aramis has found that her most impactful work has been the ability to foster community connections, in particular bringing together the resources of large institutions with local organizations to develop a more equitable and empathetic health system.
As part of her continued commitment to health advocacy, Aramis recently founded Renew Mobile Health and Wellness, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing preventative health and wellness resources to underserved communities.
Aramis is from Memphis, TN. She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Hollins University and has certifications as a nutrition coach, Oldways African Heritage teacher, Tennessee HIV tester and counselor, and Youth Mental Health First-Aider-USA. In addition to these accomplishments, Aramis has trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), QPR/Suicide Prevention, and Darkness to Light Stewards of Children.
Aramis' contributions have been recognized through numerous awards and honors. Aramis is a 2024 Memorial Foundation Social Justice Fellow; 2023 Black Millennials 4 Flint Young, Gifted & Green 40 Under 40 awardee; 2023 Builders & Backers Accelerator - West Tennessee finalist; featured in the May 2023 'Ford Fund in the Community Impact Stories’; 2018 -2019 awardee by the Memphis Black Tri-State Pride for allyship of LGBTQIA+ community.
